Don't waste your money, the bearings go out about every 4 hours. :grr:

This might sound dumb, But what exactly is an amplink?

I've always wondered the same also . I see it in magazines , saying it's a must have .... but they don't explain what the darn thing does .

Its supposed to keep the chain torq from affecting the rear suspension. It was supposed to be the best thing ever for ATV's in the early 90's but it was pretty much a flop.

Thanks Jeff, Shouldnt good carrier bearings do the job just fine?

Its totally different than carrier bearings, it mounts up near the counter shaft sprocket on the frame.

My banshee had one on it when I bought it. It had an extended swingy and the damn chain didn't even run on the bottom sprocket of the amp link. I tightened the chain to the max just to see if it would hit then. It still didn't hit on the sprocket. I emailed the pic to amp link and the jack hole told me that the sprockets were worn on my quad and that my chain was stretched even though I had the thing tightened to the max. It is a good idea to reduce the torque of the chain and to keep it from tightening up when the rear end is compressed, but this is the first I've heard that they wear out fast. Glad I heard that before I bought one for my ex.

I ran an amp link on my banshees, personally I found it to be a marked improvement.

They were high maintenance, I found that they were also very problematic on the Suzuki and Honda 250r's

I had one on my warrior, there was some improvement, but wasn't worth drilling out your stock chain guides, its a one-way mod.
