Hi, Andy and Tracy...Ottumwa??

What about the September race weekend ?? I mailed the rider profiles and am going to email the pics to go with them as soon as the weather allows. We can't hardly wait to start the race year in Indianola. Johnny's quad is almost done and then we have to finish up the 90's. Taylor sure wishes she was 13 this year, she really wants to move up and race a bigger quad.

The September race is not part of the series for year end awards. It is a special race. The race is still being worked on. We have a meeting tomorrow night (weather permitting) that will tell us a lot about the race. We are working very hard now to secure sponsors for the 2005 season as well as the big race. We don't want to release anything regarding the big race until the t's have been crossed and i's have been dotted. We will let everyone know as soon as we can. The date for this race will be September 16, 17, & 18th. We can't release the location yet. We apologize, we would like to release all the info now, because time is of the essense right now.

Yes, Ottumwa. We are trying to work our way around the state of Iowa. This location will be in conjuction with a bike race on Sunday. This is an excellent location and the opportunity came about to go to this track. This will be our only Saturday race of the year. This is another tight wooded area with a little bit of everything. But we think everyone will enjoy this location. There are plenty of hotels & restaurants in the area.

We are always looking for new locations.

Oh wow. What decisions to make for the date of April 30. We have a Mo. race in Columbia, Iowa race, and a GNCC race. What direction will we go. Guess you will have to wait and see. Me too. Our pitman says Iowa. Racer says Tenn. We will see who wins. I am just along for the ride.......mommab

I have been busy I dont mind your smack talking 1 bit Johnny!:D

There are more than just the April 30th race that interferes with me I also wanted to hit the 6hrs of Wi which is the same weekend as a Iowa and the OMA race thats at Millville thats another weekend in Iowa.:( So many races interfere with so many other series a guy can only committ to 1 series it looks like! Now with only 1 throw out in Iowa a guy cant skip any to race another series like I did last year that way I could compete in 2 series instead of just 1. blah blah blah I know:rolleyes:

Quadrookie this will be your first race right? Your gonna get eaten alive buddy lol. Its going to be a tough year in all the classes. Personally Im shooting for a top 5 and will go from there.

Hehe!! Yes it will be my first race. And yes, I know I will be eaten alive. Just wanted to stir things up a little bit! I would also say I am shooting for a top 5. Which I think honestly, if I dont break anything too major, I should be able to easily make top 10, and top 5 is definately not out of the question. But I think you are right, with the exposure the series has gotten, there should be quite a few more racers to contend with. You should be top 3 for sure I would think.

Looks like Cory Ellerbroek is wanting to team up for the 12 hours this year, got to get that top 5 on this one..

Hey Momma, everything is fine, just getting the last of my parts together for the new season. I have the Graphics on the way and number plates, now I just have to mount up my new tires..
I'm not sure on the lapper, I don't think Buster has a brother, one that races anyways..
How about you, is your washing machine gonna hold up for this years season? It may be a wet one..
Tell Bradley I have his shirt right here, I'll be bringing it to the first race, oh, and ask him if that was Hustler of Gallery he was wanting????

As soon as this freakin sub-zero weather is gone, Im gonn abe riding as much as I can. I got a buddy commin home from Iraq that says he buyin Harleys for him and the wife, but Im tryin to convince him to start ridin quads, so I gotta impress him with my racin and make him unable to resist the temptation that quads bring to the table.

Shawn I'm not sure about this maybe Andy can clear this up that when you start, each class is on their own time so if you caught up to someone in the A class you would be a minute ahead. What I figured is that if you were in the A class you would have placed like this not too bad for your first year of racing.

15th
10th
4th
11th
5th

Shawn H
01-18-2005, 04:29 PM
I was going by what Andy told me I never even looked,It dont matter will see what happens this year only time will tell. I will have a lot less traffic to battle with you must remember I had to go thru the whole Vet class with the bad finishes and half the B since I never got a top 10 start except for Ft dodge. Its smooth sailing for awhile in the A-class

Zman I aint scared of your bumper threaten me now and see who gets hurt in the end :ermm:

LOL!! Remember, them trees are looking forward to meeting your tierods too!! Jus playin! I dont have to high of hopes. I know I can ride pretty fast, but with a mostly stock bike, and not enuff seat time to get into the shape I need to be in, I am being realistic in my expectations. But if things should start to go way better than I expect, watch out, cuz it will be on then!!!!!!

Sounds good! I had an idea too. Tell emif you thin k its good or not.

What if someone made up a flyer that had all the online forums on it like the centrals, traxx, zone, atvriders, basically all the big main ones, and distributed it at the races and dealerships/shops? I am thinking it would generate alot more traffic on these forums, which in turn would generate more racers and a big plus for the sport in general? Just my brain being bored and tired of winter and working overtime!LOL!!

quadrookie, i also think that is a great idea doing that so we can get more peopl on here and more talk going, i also woundlt mine to see a flyer go up to every central, zone, etc site and have it mad a sticky for awhile so everyone could see when the races are, sponsors, and just all of the stuff, maybe we could put a flyer up in our own fourm here is johnny would mind making one up that is cool and gets people attintion jsut another thought

That is a link to some pics from one of the races. That will give you some sort of an idea. If you want, you could make the trip up here to Indianola to watch the first race, and ubeensmoked and I will show you how chit works and the ins and outs so you get a good idea of how it all works.

What are the different classes?

quadnice
01-23-2005, 09:05 AM
A/Expert This class is an Expert Class

B This class is the Intermediate Class. This is a good class to race if you are pretty good in other types of racing.

C This is a Beginner's Class. If you haven't raced before or have done very little racing, this is a good class.

+30 This class is for riders 30 years of age and older -- all skill levels.

+40 added this year I believe

Utility Any sport utility or utility

Women's Any make of machine

0-50cc Stock, 4-8 year olds

51cc-90cc Production, 8-16 years

Junior 91cc-200cc, 2-Stroke Production, 13-15 years,
and
Up to 300cc 4-Stroke Production, 13-15 years

:D ------Plus, I think also being added is a "TRUE" beginners, or "FIRST YEAR RACER" class, which I think I will race if it is added.

As far as the link to the pics goes, just go to the search feature at the top of the forum page, and type in iatvhss pics . then click on one of the topics, and go through them until you find pics, or a link to the pics.

check this out www.iatvhss.com

or if that doesnt work try

www.iowaatvharescrambleseries.com

go to the "Results" section and click on each class. This will tell you how many riders scored points in each class. I think a good turnout in c-class is about 30-35. Also, you can do what I did, contact Andy and Tracy at iatvhss.com and order a video or dvd of the highlights from the last season(which I am patiently still waiting for!:D ) it should give you a great feel for the atmosphere surrounding an event.

C-classes always have easily 35 riders in it. Sometimes there are 50?:eek2:

Usually about
15 Pro class
25-30 B-class
25-30 Vets
Utility 6-8
Womens 5-6
Junior 4-8

Well I put that first, but then thought maybe with the new beginners class, and a bunch moving to B, it might go down some. But 50-60 sounds good!:D

I will be running just a piped & jetted KFX with pretty much everything else on the quad stock. The races are a 2-hour timed race.

I havent raced a race yet, but I did work the race at The Farm last year. Ubeensmoked raced all last year I know for sure, but not positive if it was his first year or not. I am 28, and until I bought this KFX 2 years ago, I hadnt ridden anything since I was about 16, and a quad since I was about 13-14. I am guessing either you have way too much money to have the mods you have, or else you are more than capable of competing in this series.

LOL!! Well, what kind of terrain do you usually ride? Any woods? Creeks? If you want to make the trek to Bussey, I would be happy to meet you there and show you the types of trails that the tracks consist of, and it would be pretty easy to tell if you would be capable of racing or not. I assure you, there are people racing who are probably alot less skilled than you, trust me!! Its not about winning anyway. Its the fun, and comradereship-sp?- and meeting new people and making friends. It is a good time but also a way to compete.

I live in Omaha, so I usually go to Veteran's Bridge (15 min door to door). I go there about once a week. I don't know if you have ever been there, but they are very narrow, rough trails. I am usually in 2nd at max rpm or 3rd gear mid rpm going through there. However there are very few long stretches. I feel very comfortable riding technical trails, but don't have much experience with jumps. I have done very litle MX track riding. Bussey is about 188 miles from where I live, is there something midway that we can hook up at? I know another guy who has a totally pimped 400ex (courtesy of Curtis Sparks) and trying to see if he wants to run in the harescrambles as well. ATVs and Motorcycles aren't well recieved in NE and I would like to change that, hopefully what's going on in Iowa will catch on over here. The people that organize these events go to a lot of time and trouble.

ZMan:::Tell yur wife not to get to upset when you use the washer. Could be worse,,, like my bathtub. I came home today from town after doing all this stuff for the birthday boy Michael and went to the bath room to put up toothpaste etc and glanced into the bath tub and my gosh I never seen so much mud in the bottom of a bathtub. Michael had took his Chest protector and boots into the tub and scrubbed them. I told him he might be 20 yrs old today but he was so grounded for leaving me the biggest mess I had ever seen. lol. I could not believe it. But guess who cleaned it up. yea right momma. lol........

We almost stopped in for the party, Johnny called and told us but we had just passed the exit, and Josh didn't want to turn around.. I told him, if we turned around he wouldn't have gotten that ticket....lol
I'm just glad it wasn't me, momma lectured me anyways, saying,," you always take too many chances, you need to be more careful, do you know how much our insurance would be if you got that ticket" on and on...lol, I never win.

I guess the computer screen isnt working so you have to ask about placing top 3 pro class JBRacing, East Coast, TCC not sure on anyone else. Track alright according to Johnny. His team ran B class and apparently was beating the A class. Woo Hoo if only the motor hadn't locked. Chris started and a 5 min lead on his class and Johnny went second and got them a 7 minute lead then she blew. Just got the motor rebuilt 2 weeks ago:mad: Johnny guessed and said 60 to 70 teams total.
