I know in oregon if you are still in school you cant work more than 20 hours....although most jobs dont care....i worked 40 hours a week my junior year for a few months

at 13 i dont know if any companys will hire you. I would look at cutting lawns, doing yard work...it sucks but it can make decent money at that age

hmmm i worked at horse farms at 14 or 15

my first official job was at Linens 'N Things when I was 16, however, I quit that job very soon after I got it b/c they had me working 39 hrs a week (so I couldnt get the full-time benefits), closing the largest part of the store by myself (all the other departments which were smaller, got at least two people to close), and sometimes staying till 1 am.......so i was tired of getting screwed over....... quit that job and got a job as a designer for a T-Shirt company and had a blast there for a while.... that is how I got the money for my quad. I also worked at a copy center during high school.

i cut lawns when i was 13-14 it was good money at 20 bucks a yard and they yard would only take hour to hour and a half with weedeating cleaning and everything but i could only get about 7-10 yards each summer so i didnt have a full weeks work but the days that i did work it was pretty easy to me. my first reall job was this past sumer working for my dad as an electrical apprentice it payed good 8 bucks an hour cash but it was hard work and i was working right at 35-40 hours each week and some weeks more than that needless to say i was tired when i got home and really didnt feel like doing much most days but i did buy my 400 and the motor redone and allthe rest of the mods in my sig oh yea i was 15

Washing dishes at a local rest when I was 12. It sucked but I was able to save up over $1000 that summer so my dad said he would match my money to buy a BRAND NEW 1986 ATC200X! My friends all ragged on me when I was working but when I rolled my new ride off the truck, I was the shanizzle!!!!! Of coarse I crashed it the same day to break it in correctly.

I started my own landscaping company when I was 13. I made friends with other business owners in the area, learned some basic business principles, and it took off from there. I started with 2 yards and my dad's equipment. Now i run two crews, own five mowers, and let just say i make enough money to have fun.

You're never too young to start!

I started out at 10 years old working in our family restaurant . At first I was just cleaning tables and doing dishes , but by the second year I was there my mom started showing me how to cook . I was then cook for a couple years after that until we sold the business . Then at 14 I worked in another restaurant as a cook for about 2 years . At 16 I started working at a Horse stable , taking care of the horses , cleaning and feeding . At 17 I took off for a summer to work about 16 hours away from home in a Provincial Park with a crew of about 25 other guys . We cleared canoe routes for weeks at a time ... did Park work ... built walking bridges ... hiking trails ( it was the best job I EVER had ) .
After I came back that summer I worked at a gas station for about 6 months and worked as a bartender for about 3 months . Quit both once I got my job at Royal ( where I work now)at the age of 18-19 ... started out part time cuz of high school and college ... then got hired fulltime ... now I'm Assistant Manager and I'm 21. :D

That's my work history . :p Just remember .... everyone quit's their first job . And if you're like me , you'll ore than likely quit more than just 1 job . But it's all good experience .

I started working in my mom's restaurant when I was 13. I washed dishes for a while, then started cooking. I also worked as a farm hand, but it was a "work when you want, leave when you want" job, so I wasn't there very often!:) When I was 17, I started working for an ISP along with still working at the restaurant. At the end of the summer before my Senior year, I quit working at the restaurant. I still work for the same ISP now. I'm 22:)

I started working at a nursery watering flowers and plants at age 13. You might want to look at an Agway or something like that.
Sometimes they hire younger workers just as stock boys .

im 16 and i just got my first job back in october, its not that bad, im really glad i got a job. its so weird, u have tons of money and dont know wut to do with it lol, its awesome

chick-fila(sp?) hires at 14 here, everywhere else is like 16

But i work at Target. My town just got a new Target like last year and a guy ive know since i was like 2y/o is like an assistant manage their, so he put in good words about me and i filled out the application at the store one day, and they called me the next day. not even kiddin lol. went in for an interview a week later, they liked me, went in for another interview the next day, and they told me "go get a drug test" :D YEEHAW i got it. lol

and i started out at $6.75/hr. thats wut i still make now but in acouple weeks i get an automatic raise to $7.00/hr.
the first day i had to get cashier training, which everyone is required to do, and then i went to work in the food place. 95% of the time (except on weekends) i run the whole food place by myself. i work in the food place where u can get pizza, hot dogs, popcorn, icee's etc. but i basically run it all by myself and everyone their loves me, all the managers tell me they wish i was their all the time instead of some of the other ppl that work back their.
its not too bad, i like it, just gets boring sometimes when i have everything done and i have to wait for the time to roll by so i can leave.

At 16 i got a job at Pilot Travel Center as "maintenance" meaning i either pump gas or work inside (Washing showers/cleaning bathrooms/making sure the store is clean) it wasn't that bad at first but after a year it started to suck and i quit. Inside really sucked... Pumping gas can be fun sometimes, but can also suck when a bunch of a-holes come in.

Right now i do odd jobs for my step moms boss. She works for state farm insurance, he is the insurance agent and owns the building and everything in roseburg oregon. Ive built a fence at the office, do a bunch of stuff at his house, repair sprinkler system, trim hedges, move dirt, plant grass. Tons of stuff, i get $10 an hour, and im on the State Farm payroll ;)

I got mine easier. it was too funny. my neighbor was the mechanic who work on the go-karts and boats and what not for Funtastics. He came over with an aplication and knocked on the door and asked if i wanted a job. He said fill this out and bring it in tomorrow. They didnt even interview me.

A summer job at a gas station? You have to be like 18 to work at a gas station I thought. My first job was doing landscaping and crap for some guy that owned a rafting/kayakying business on a river. I basically did whatever needed to be done.

Worked summers on the hay truck during high school, starting at age 14. After graduation, I logged for the summer to pay for school. This last summer I worked construction as a journeyman laborer (made lots of $$$). This year during school I'm working at a gas station. We have a couple kids working that are under age 18 so I know that could be a possibility.

I started when I was 13-14... got a contract to do yard maint for a local neighbor. $5.00/hr under the table (around 15-20hrs wk).... not bad for 1990... it was way more than minimum wage at the time.
