Dan_Guetter
01-11-2005, 03:16 PM
I know i can't wait another year for this dirtriot to come around, so im talking to some people and gettin some legit contests across the US.

The only way for the sport to take the next leap is if we can get some people to ride at these contests...

Anyone down?

PM me with any questions you may have

thanks,

Dan

hmm...I have a few boys who may be interested, depending on where at...

01-11-2005, 04:49 PM
The northeast is where its at. Theres sooo many people that would try out, as long as its not on the day of an neatv-mx or national.

Id skip a race to do it.

I was sick of seeing 8 shows in a row on the hbomb site all in so.cal.

i would be there. the only problem i see is the lack of competitors in one area. i say there be at least two contests. one held somewhere in the wisconsin/mn part of the country, and one in the northeast like atkins said. seems like most of the freestylers are in those areas.

01-11-2005, 06:41 PM
Theres a decent amount in the texas area, aswell.

J.G. got his start by going to a fqx contest in his area.

If its anywhere around georgia, id like to enter. i was planning on entering a monster truck rally/quad freestyle demo next year if they hold one in Atlanta Georgia in the Georgia dome.

Have one in Bernaska (Nebraska). You'll get a good turnout and its located it the middle of the country so people will come.

Rootar
01-12-2005, 09:42 AM
the only track ive been to is donaldson mx going towards little rock where is red river at (isnt it close to texarkana or atleast kinda close) i hit a ramp as long i had someone to follow and as long as it was a crazy distancelike over 60feet

Wired
01-12-2005, 02:43 PM
if we do this... i take that back WHEN we do this you guys have to make sure your ready for a ramp at 65ft minimum. comprende :macho

all you guys have to do is show up and ride and we'll take care of the rest!

Rootar
01-12-2005, 03:11 PM
i understand what you are sayin wired but im gonna have too hit a ramp a few times before i come or ill just come watch but by the end of the summer i should be goin further than 65 hopefully my dad will understand that this is what i really want to do and finish one the side pieces i cut to start a ramp (after i cut one of the curves he told me to stop) but one of these day he'll come around, he better

Can we keep it at 65 feet? Ive never hit a metal hit, so im not used to them yet. Also, i think youll be able to see more people hit it if its at 65 feet. You can always move it back if people want you to!

Ditto, i cant hardly ride with this cold weather and all my ramps arent around my house, theyre about 20 miles away and i have to pay 15.00 to hit my own ramp i built. thats ok cause im gonna go pick up that ramp and i gotta friend who has some property that we can put freestyle ramps all over for free :D , when that happens ill be practicing all the time. im also gonna weld a stnd freestyle ramp up once i get some metal, but the prices are so high right now, im gonna have to wait for a little while. that ought to get things rolling better practice wise. :)

01-12-2005, 06:24 PM
Wow, youd think the track would let you hit it for free since its your own ramp.

raptor146
01-12-2005, 06:36 PM
What gear would we hit a 65ft jump in? 2nd or 3rd?

hondaracer305
01-12-2005, 06:59 PM
Thats what i say, but at least they set me up with that sweet landing ramp, man that thing was huge, it had a huge sloping back side so if you came up short, you wouldnt bite the big one, i dont know if its worth 15 bucks a day though.

I hit my 60 foot ramp in 2nd gear pinned and it sends me on the downside perfect every time, my ramp has a different lip on it though so i dont know exactly how fast you would have to go on bigger ramps, but it should be either 2nd pinned or 3rd mid, somewhere in there

i have talked to my parent's about the possiblities of going big in freestyle, I know of one guy an hour away that has a ramp, i'm gonna be talkin to him about practicing on it, cause all my tricks have been done on dunes and stuff, so i know off a metal ramp would make em so much easier, and up to 80 feet is no big deal to me, we had a 105 foot triple we was trying, needless to say, it was a ruff landing

01-14-2005, 02:46 PM
haha i just talked my mom it to letting me out a metal ramp in her horse pasture (flat adn long) so this shoulb be good practice

i would at least go to watch unless it was later in the summer when i would probably have some tricks down. i've never hit or even seen a metal ramp in person and never jumped much more than about 45 foot off a driveway aproach to a flat landing. i know a guy who might be interested in entering a comp but i don't know if he has ever done any freestyle but he easily clears 100 foot tables. so if theres anything in minnesota area i'll try and come.
