I have a ex with WHite Bros Rev limiter, K & N, Jetted, Different gears, and a Dr. D exhaust. SHould I run a stage 1 or stage 2 cam. I heard stage 2 is for bored out motors only. stage 1 has higher lift and shorter duration, and stage 2 has lower lift and longer duration. I want to get a stage 2 so when I do the rest of the motor I don't have to worry about buying another cam. What should I do?
Thanx,
Chuck

if you plan on doing the rest of the motor i would just go with the stage 2. stage 1 does work better in trails but if you ride at high rpms a lot, stage 2 would be best.

I'm planning on doing a 416, and cleaniing up the casting marks in the head in th spring/summer which would be better for that mildly build motor? I ride all woods and race xc....

I'd go stage 2.

IM running a stage two cam, and im also a Cross Country racer, and My stage1 Hotcams is amazing, When i dog my motor, it pulls right out of it. My buddie runs a stage 2 and it seems to chug a little more, But it makes power all the way to the rev limiter. Where as my stage one seems to loose the power at about 7-8 thousand RPM's. But for woods racing its a good/inexpencive cam.

I'd dont really rev mine out too often, just dont feel like beating it up that bad, but seem to lug it more, so stage 1 sounds like where I want to be

i personally think the stage 2 cam is only good for Flat track racing and dunes. I dont see a point in putting power where u wont really use it.

I ride mostly trails and my stage 1 does a great job with low end power. I would recommend a stage 1 to anyone who rides alot of trails...
