Wiring quest. for tether switch

ok,I bought a tether switch and the way it says to wire it up isn't working.Any help would be appreciated.It says to hook one wire to the black wire( theres 3) with a white tracer and the other to the green wire(clutch switch on handle bar).No worky

I hooked mine right to the wires at the coil. There is a black, i think ground, and a green, again i think hot wire. Mine only had 2 wires, so those were all i had to hook up. Try just those two first, you may not even need the clutch wire. Hope this helped you out, also what kind of tether do you have?

i really don't remember the name of it.the green wire that the instructions said was the clutch wire for the lever on the handle bars which did'nt make sence.I'll try that.thanks
