Tire Size?

Im going to be getting into racing but im not sure what tire size to get, i got the stock 22's on but i hear i should get 18's but some say 20's if i got 18's could i get a diff. sprocket to even out the top speed loss?

If you race MX 18 is the best size. You can get a 16 tooth sproket to even it out but have to buy a special case saver.

Why would i have to buy a special case saver?

Stock tires on a 400 are 20".
From what i've read, a 16 tooth front sprocket will not fit with the the stock case saver. I think you might be able to grind it down to make it fit but i'm not sure.
Another option would be to use a smaller rear sprocket. Someone else would have to tell you what size 'cause I don't know.

i have 18's on mine now, and they work great when i race it. i just left the gearing alone, i didnt want to screw any thing up. it all seems good to me but i dont know what its like any other way
