Well, I finally worked on the bike yesterday
. I havent touched the bike since i blew it up the last day in glamis. I was finally going to find out what happened to the motor. I'm pretty sure i got a intake leak and ran the motor lean. I popped it WOT:o I really didint mind when i Blew it up because i had a spare 330 sitting in the uhaul incase it blew up, since it blew up the last day it was all good. I mean damn, I held the throttle WOT for 8 straight days with about 8 hours a day on the bike.:eek2:

here it is about to be torn apart.

It isnt that bad though, the cylinder and head are still in good shape, the rod is ok too but has melted pieces of piston on it. It looks like most of the skirt was kicked out the exhaust port, luckily.

:o the motor. looks like the 86 piston lived up to its problematic piston skirt failure, running it lean due to a intake leak didnt help.

after some swapping of clutch covers and misc parts the new motor is ready to go in. Tommorow i will have more pics. to bad i wont be able to ride the bike due to a broken ankle on my buds quad:mad:

this baby is just getting started, once the other motor is resleeved to 270 and fitted with a ktm rod I will be putting it back in and taking the 330 out and porting the cylinder. For now, its a stock 330 cylinder with the factory porting (Cast). i cant wait to resleeve the 330 and port it, then i will put it back in and start my next project R

Spare or not, I'm always ticked off when I blow a motor.
