I am in the process of buying a o5 450R and want to start racing with the locals here in TX. What do I need to start racing?

Shocks
Pipe
Nerf Bars
Skid Plates
Handle Bars
Other Mods

What ever else do I need?

Thanks

What's your budget? I would go with 18's rear tires, 20in fronts. Wider A-arms, shocks/shock revalve, axle, nerfs, handlebars, sparks pipe and a cam. That'll get you started. With a lot of searching you could do a low budget/good quality build and find all the stuff I mentioned. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff......like a killswitch. Good luck.

I can tell you for me the biggest thing I got other than the nerfs and killswitch most definately was 18" on rear and 20" on front. Then I would say axle. What good is power if you can not control it!!

Depending on your budget there are many options. But you can buy parts that can get you started and will keep you out of bankruptcy.
Wider axel such as lonstar
Offset front wheels
don't let anyone fool you, you can race with stock shocks. The aftermarket shocks will just help out a hole bunch. The same with a-arms.

I would say to strat nerfs and kill switch.
Then open up airbox lid and get a good full system, I recomend the yoshi its has good bottom-mid and gains on top as well. Tires what others have recomended. And get shocks rebuilt buy gt thunder and get mx linkage.

go with a dixo carbon hood off ebay. they are awesome, same thing as quadtech but a lot cheaper.
