When im in in gear and i let off the gas and then get back on it I hear the chain catch almost like its loose and its smacking against the sprocket but when i check it its not loose,,,, is this normal?

Ya im pretty sure, the quads only 3 months old and i got right before winter but i never rode it during winter , just a little before and now im riding a lot now

make sure that is not the problem is it all stock

try tightin ur swingarm bolt mine was doing something similar and that was the problem

Is this something my dealer could do because i have to take it in soon for the second check up thing pretty much to see if my engine is sealing properly and change oil and filters.

I could be wrong, but worth a try..... Relube you chain with generous amount. Let soak in..... Then sit on it and check the tension. You might just need it adjusted properly.

Hopefully that's what it is, since it is an easy fix.

But I would do what others said, and make sure your sprockets are tight, and your swingarm bolt.

After that, I can't imagine what else would cause the "slapping" of the chain.

if your chain is tight and everthing else is its probally the little rubber slider on the swingarm skid come off. im not for sure how much a new one is but ive seen several come off. and it makes a sound when you downshift like you was talking about. id be willing to bet thats what it is.
