On a stage 1 hotcam in a 400ex do you need to use a different decompersion system? In the paperwork that came with it, it said "do not remove the gear holder from this camshaft, it does not use the decompression mechanism. Also remove the plunger, and spring from the cylinder head." I noticed on my stock cam that there are some floating lobes that the new cam doesnt have. Anyone out their installed their own hotcam and if so any input is greatly appreciated!

You don't use the decompression mechanism period. You need to take out the ball and spring in the head. the older style hotcam used the cam chain sprocket from the stock cam.

yes, remove the spring and plunger from the head. the extra pieces you see on the stock cam is part of the decompression assembly. you just don't use any of that with the hotcam.

My 416 kit really added power especially in bottom end power
cylinder bore is about 60 a piston is 100ish
you dont need to resleeve a 416 either.
