Can someone give me a clear discription of the difference between hitting the rev limiter and braking up due to a to rich condition? I'm refering to a top end problem , it seem's like my 400 is either to rich or I'm hittiing the limiter. thank's guy's.:D
Usually if it is rich it will blow black smoke out of the exhaust. That has been my expeirence(not sure how to spell it, oh well).

well i think its too rich. Looking at your mods you should be running a 155-160 main jet.
I find usally when they are rich they work better on wide open conditions because they burnt out all of the gas.

if it the rev limiter, it will studdur real fast. If it is rich, it will feel like it is lugging.

I think they all do that...When im in neutral and rev the engine as high as it can do it misfires....An my firends 250R does the same thing when u have it guned...Also i am running a 225 main jet and mine isnt that rich...But i have alot done
Have you installed the white bros rev kit? The stock rev limiter is set real low and it sounds like your hitting it. You can get another 1000rpm's without causing any problems with this mod. They are relatively inexpensive.

I think 400exjoe and 300ex rules might be right because it does not seem to pull real hard up top, kind of like it's lugging:(
