Hey you might wanna invest in a can of fix-a-flat, youve got a screw stuck in your tire.

well it took about 4 hours (had lunch with my little one though :) ) there is 640 screws in each rear and 260 something in each front , and never mind the fix-a-flat ,there is "slime" in each one of those bad boys. I'll let you know how good they work.

Ive heard that if you have too much hook sometimes you can just rip apart your sprockets

the screws are the pro golds @$57.00 for 1000 (you need 2000) the front tires are bandits , which i already had and the back tires are chin-shin 826's which are 18-9.50 and i think they where like $37.00. this setup works great , this thing is like fly paper on the ice , just use the throttle for a nice controlled slide

Back tires look great. As for the fronts, still see where you could of put at least one more screw in the tire. When I did my first ice race in 96, I used up every part of the tread on the tire for the ice screws. After each heat race, be ready to go over each tire and make sure none of the screws are loose. Good luck and let us know how you did.

i think your right with more screws in the front , every knob in the middle now has 4 screws and the 2 in rows have 4 screws in everyother and i left the 2 outer rows alone , we will see how that works for next weekend , as for placement i got 3rd overall but the were only 17 quads there , got beet by a shee and a modded predator , had the pred in the straits but he kept on getting me in the corners :ermm: , going to lower the bike for this weekend too , to see if that helps . never changed my suspension , just put the tire on and went for it , so there is room for improvement (sp?) , if you have any tip /tricks that would help please let me know.thanx

I used about 600 screews on the 4 tires. In the trails Its like not even being on ice. I have a small pond behind my shop and a few of use race for fun. My freind has a crf 250 with trellieborg tires on it. He puts one leg down and laps use all on atv's. Its also a blast when you lose it around a corner. The atv doesnt flip it slides. Im missing my bike right now.

there is a balance to how many screws are required so that you maintain traction yet allow the quad to still slide. I always put ONE screw in each knobby for the rears (same ching chan tire).

Looks good, have fun

More isnt always better when it comes to studding tires. I use the same rear tires and use half as many scews. If you want your scews to stay in the tire use 1" screws and put nylon nuts on each stud inside the tire. They will never come out and it helps stop air leaks. Make sure you dont ride on anything but ice with those studded tires. They have to be sharp to work well. I wish I was ice racing now, but we dont have enough ice.

wow is right ,I started this thread last winter :eek2: , anyway running 1 stud per knob works alot better.this year I'm running a rath swaybar and 20's all around and this combo work great , the bike is so hooked on the ice that i've acctually highsided by going into a corner way too "hot". running the kenda klaws up front with 2 studs per knob work real nice too.I run 1" screws also but just put slime in them , seem to be holding up just fine .
