pappy,
how do you install sterring stem bearings? we put it in through the top but it wont go down. the dust seal went through but the bearings wont. any advice would be helpful. thanks

Make sure you getter square, set the stem in place and giver a whack with a rubber mallet.. Z

Use a socket the same diameter as the outer edge of the bearing.Sit the socket on top the bearing,and tap the socket to drive the bearing in.I'd put a thin layer of grease on the bearings outer edge first.:D

we've been doing that. it seems its hit a point and doesnt wanna go. we used a 2x4 too and it still wont budge. my pops got a c clamp and tried popping it in but it wont go either. which way should of we put the bearings in, through the top, or flipping the frame and putting them in that way.

Put the bearing in the freezer for a few hours and let it get cold. It'll make it easier

well we put it in and hit it with a rubber mallet..it moved a little but not enough for the clip. anyt more ideaS?

ditch the rubber mallet. i use a 5 pound hammer, a large socket and a long extension fit into the inverted socket. one slight tap and it usually slides all the way in. the bearing goes in from the top of the frame
