I have a K&N and its horrible. They are way to hard to clean the only way to get some stuff out of them is a air compressor definalty go with uni.

uni, because k&n lets too much dust thru even if you have outerwares. my boss had a blaster with kn and it blew up, when he took it apart there was dirt in the crank area and intake. and yes he installed it properly with grease. i use twin-air on my 300 i will never have k&n on any of my machines.

K&N aren't that hard to clean, they do take a little time and patience.

Never use an air compressor to clean them! Using a prefilter will help keep the big stuff out.

i have a K&N its easy to clean... spray the stuff on....rinse from the inside and it gets pretty much everything out...sometimes you gotta do it twice...then just reoil. Works perfect for me!

I know i shouldn't use an air compressor but when i bought it the guy that had it had never washed it and where he rode it was like all mud and slit i couldn't really rinse anything off of it. I got it as clean as I could, but I thinks its time for a new filter.

IMO K&N lets in too much dirt/dust, even with a properly fitted outerwear. Get a UNI or any other foam type filter, it will filter it much better. Although the foam filter might be a tad more restricting, I doubt you would notice it. You wont have to worry about anything pulling through.
