400ex connecting rod (play?)

I was wondering how much play should be allowed in a conecting rod on a 400ex. I dont know alot about the subject, But i figgure there needs be a slight bit just for heat expansion, and oil lubercation. If anyone has an idea that would help!

shouldn't be any play up and down. there is quite a bit side to side. well, i don't have my service manual with me here so i can't tell you and numbers.

YEah i dont have any up/down play, just a little bit of side/2/side play. BUMP

side to side = 0.002-0.018 and no more than .020
up and down = 0.0002-0.0007 and no more than 0.002
thats in inches.
