ok i have a 2001 300EX and the left front shock mount broke off the shock and all the flud ran out. so i am thinking about put- ing 400ex arms and 400ex shocks on it. will i need the relocater braket? How dose it ride after it is all down?

P.S. Ride Red and Rider Hard

i wouldnt do the 400ex a-arms! me and jeff has lots of posting on why its a bad idea. find a set of 300ex plus 2's and use a relocater bracket and good aftermarket shocks

Benny I wouldn't recommend running the 400 setup either. Bone705 had it and it and it made the front end sit way to high and the bump steer was unreal. I agree with bradley if you are going to run it find +2's for a 300 then run 400 shocks. I saw a good deal on works shocks with rezzies for a 300 the other day, I'll send you the link if I find it.

Also there is alot of old posts on here about the 400 front end on a 300. Back in my 300ex days I was going to try the setup and did alot of reading on here. You might want to do a search and get some more info.

I wouldn't recommend the 400 A-arms either.

I had it and it doesn't perform well. I ran +2+1 300EX a-arms last season with 400EX Elkas and I made a mount with a mig, sawzall and a drill. Its not really that hard to do.

Run that set-up with 4+1 rims and you will be very happy.

If you don't want to spend the time making the bracket look into some long travel a-arms with shocks built to fit the stock mount like Jeremy Benson ran. Works or Elka can make you what ever you want.

See you at the races.

Benny, I considered the same thing and decided after I read a bunch of posts oversteer was a real issue. Pick up a cheap 300ex shock and ride it while you look for some used 300ex racing arms and shocks.
