Installed the Gtthunder link and had them re-valve the stock rear shock. It rides much smoother and does not want to buck me off the seat, it also keeps the wheels on the ground much better especially when cornering. I felt more confident, a little faster and less fatigued after racing. Definately worth the $250. He even hooked me up through the holidays so I could have it in time to practice prior to a race. I can't use the full lowering capability of it due to my stock fronts. I have all the pre-load out of the fronts but it still is not as low as I want. I set the rear of the frame about 3/4" lower than the front with me on it. When I get the fronts done (????) I can lower the rear more.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have GT Thunder do all 3 shocks including the rear link. Thanks

Hey Nick....welcome to the 450R world:D Glad to see ya. I think the whole pkg deal is around $600.00. He uses a progressive spring on the fronts and re-valves them and adds the link in the rear and just re-valves the stock. I don't know if the progressive spring on the rear is necessary, or not....never asked! Anyway! may see you at Tomahawk Sat.? Nice pic of you on ******** Budds coverage...looks like you needed some air:p Later

i wish i would have just got my front shocks done by gt thunder. now i am going to send my elkas to him to respring revalve, since my gt thunder rear works much better then my $900 elkas.

My rear shock is at GT thunder right now, I hope I am as happy with mine.

I really like mine also! It made a big difference and my R is pushing 220lbs. of crap arond at the local MX track.

Big bang for the buck. I don't think I have ever heard anything bad about the rear shock setup from GT thunder.

After much discussion with Laz and considering other options, I sent my rear shock to Laz for the revalve and link. I also ordered a set of Elkas for the front from GT Thunder that he is going to rework. I am adding a + 1 1/4" swingarm and different tie rod ends to reduce bump steer. I think this setup will be hard to beat for the money. Everything is designed and setup to work together. Can't wait to get everything installed and start testing.

Who else did you consider? Thanks

I bought a Houser swingarm so I considered there linkage - only limitation is you have to use there swingarm and the shock will only work with there link (can't test other setups like stock vs. extended swingarm as easy). Other options were the Elka link with there rear shock, or an Axis rear shock with the GT Thunder link.

is he going to convert the elka's to dual rate for you? im going to be sending mine to him sometime soon to have my rework mine, they are not half as nice as my stock rear shock with the gt thunder setup.

WhiteZee - yes he is going to set them up with dual rates much like an Axxis shock.
