What is the best way to remove the exhaust studs on a 400ex so i can replace them. After removing the headers a few times the threads are shot.
thanks!

I took mine out with a pair of vise grips.

has anyone tried welding a nut on them and wrenching them off?

I'm not looking at the exhaust studs right now but is there some reason you couldn't double nut them and take them off with a wrench?

well i'm thinking maybe the fact that he said the threads are shot just may prohibit that idea :o
and yes you can weld a nut on the end of them and i find that a little pipe wrench works better than a pair of vice grips

well I got lucky...i just man-handled the nuts on so that they cross threaded and then backed the whole stud out. good thing I have extra exhaust stud nuts:D
I just break mine off and use a drill and easy out to get the *******s out....
