any one have any ideas for starting my 2002 400ex in the cold. the one problem is that there is no butterfly flap in the carb which equals no choke, im well aware this makes it difficult but i was wondering if any1 has any tips,

thanks

Get a battery tender to keep your battery at full charge at all times. Helped me...starts even when the mercury dips to 5 above...plus I have the proper jetting and a 42 pilot (slow jet).

i got rid of my joke, starts 10 times better even in the cold in my oppinion this is relying on whether or not you have the correct jetting this will not work on the stock pilot you need atleast a 42 and the just pump the throttle bout 5 or 6 times and crank it, my bike starts right up in 12 below with no effort at all

I have a 42 pilot in my quad and i still need to use my choke :ermm: I can pump it like 5-6 times and it might start for a second then it dies.... but if i put on the choke and do it, i can get it to start and stay running really easy.
