This is my 400ex, I got all the mods listed in the signature. Its not movin right now cuz I broke the swing arm due to someone that doesnt know how to weld by a previous owner. It snapped when i was climbing a hill with a small jump on it. I have a new one and its gettin powdercoated right now. Oh well tell me what you think. This of the picture of when I got it at the dealer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v214/redlined00/Blakesnew400ex.jpg

do you know if that is paint on the wheels or if it is powdercoated?? i am wanting to do my wheels black, but i don't know whether or not to paint or pc. i could probably paint them 10 times for 1 powdercoat and last just as long. let me know.

Your 400 looks pretty sweet for a near-stock 400. Looks like all you need are the extended a-arms, shocks, extended swingarm and axle!

I wish I had all the money to get that stuff. definately would if I did. also just wondering your guys opinions on somethin. I got a 14 tooth sprocket on there and those small tires and rims on back so I am making a lot or torque on it and not much top speed, you guys think gettin a 16 tooth sprocket would make a difference or just be like havin the same thing? tell me what you think!!

Switching to a 16 would probably set you back closer to stock speed, maybe a little more top end. I got 18" tires and had to switch back to a 15t because I was WOT in 5th gear on my trails. The 15 feels like it is still a little short of stock, so I'm sure 16 would be good.

the guy over at hri has gears custom cut for a 400 with 18 tires i belive its a 14/34 and he says it actually rasies the gearing little over stock evn including the smaller tires and he says every one that has tried it Loves it but its prolly more for mx

oh and dont you with a 16 hvae to remove the case saver?????????

I believe Pro Design makes a case saver that works with the 16 tooth.

I was just wondering how much of a difference it would make cuz I noticed one day when i was ridin with a friend that He was in 5th on a road and i was right beside him and he was at a mid rev and my engine was revving pretty high and I was just lookin around to gettin a 16 and wondering if its a good choice. I need to get a case saver too, dont have one and its always good to have those. what about back sprockets too. those make any difference??let me know!!

For every one tooth taken off/put on in the front, you'll need to take off/put on two in the rear to make that much of a difference. If you take off a tooth in the rear, it gives you more top end. Whereas if you put on a tooth in the rear it gives you more bottom end, it's just the opposite of the front sprocket.

It depends what your doing with your quad, If u wanta go faster in the woods id stick with stock gearing, But if u wanta hall balls down a road then a 16-38, or 39 wouldnt be bad for u.

But (TRAVIS) running that 16t is putting more stress on that motor than it was intended for. There is a point that no mater size sprockets ur running, ur motor just wont pull anymore.

I also think that travis is running a 440 bore right? That will also be an advantage over your quad!

It looks good anyways!

ya i understand about that stock gearing, I was just sayin since i have a 14 sprocket AND small *** tires ane wheels its puttin out a lot of torque, I was just wantin to even it out to where i have the best of both worlds (speed & torque)
