Well sent stockers off to Colby at C&D for their zps conversion. The rear is a no brainer for them cause they have done the 450r which are a showa shock also.
The fronts will be triple rate for +2 arms and I hope to drop a few inches in ride height. for me being the "recreational" rider this should be a great conversion at a much lower cost then pure aftermarket set up for a couple of k's worth of $.
I will post back once I get the mods all done through the next couple of weeks and see if the knee can take a good hard ride and report back.;)

I have to add that Colby really does quality work. Also if it isn't right he is usually willing to fix it.

Redrunner We can't wait for you to get some ride time on them:) . We have had great success with the conversion we have done on the trx450r stocks shocks and feel that this bike also has good stock shocks that just need some work. This kit is available for the KFX 400 and the LTZ 400. If you would like more info please feel free to PM me or call me 402-614-2508

Very nice Z!
I bet it will ride soooo smooth!
How much did the rebuild cost?
you could PM me or I could also just find out from C & D myself I guess!
Did you get to choose the spring color or do they only come in one color?
What I am getting at is do you think they could do black and orange springs for the front?

the price for the rebuild is $615 front and rear and sometimes the spring color is a mystery, most of the time the fronts are red and black and the rear is either red and black or black and blue, we could also send them to pappy and he could do the custom colors he has done a few sets. I think black and orange would look good.

There you go Blaze, Dusty is the girl to speak with. I had thought about the springs but figured I would wait for some chipping to happen and see what color scheme I end up with. After I pull of the stock graphics and do the new ones it will be all yellow, black and grey with a black HMF.

Now I just need to save my money!
I think this is the best way to go with my 05' because the stock shocks are very nice, and with a little work done to them I think will have a hard time getting rid of them when I get my long travel suspension.

Redrunner:
I think your Yellow with grey/black scheme will work out well. You don't see it too often but when you do it looks good.
I want orange/black springs and I am going to get graphics custom made, maybe an existing scheme just with a custom color??(hopefully I can find somewhere not TOO expensive). Black nerfs/bumpers/grab bar. Can't wait should have everything done by May.

Well I can't say enough about the Z400 and the C&D rebuild. Not being on a quad for over 8 months will certainly tell you alot about yourself and machine. What it told me is that this set up is great, I figure myself to be slightly above average rider if that but I felt like a pro, hitting the woops flat out, diving into a turn and powersliding out of it what a blast!
Anyone saying Razr2's don't slide is nuts, they were totally predictable and hook up at all times required. I am sitting at 8" in the rear and 81/2 in the front and it was like being on rails. As far as the cure for the over mid life crisis I have definetly found it!
