I'm currently running a 400ex w/stock swingarm with a rear dual rate Axis shock. I race XC and want to get more travel, I am switching to a long travel setup. I heard you have to weld the top shock mount 1 inch up? I will be going with a plus 1.25 in. swingarm, do I need to buy a new axis shock or could I use the one I have now. I was hoping to buy a lonestar rear swingarm or houser. If anybody has experience with this input it would be great.

yes you can keep the shock but you may have to change your linkage and rebuild the shock.

talked to K and K racing, will need to change spring and have shock revalved. I think I'm going to switch to a rear Elka shock with their linkage later, but will have shock worked on for now. I hope it will be worth all the money I'm going to sink into it! Only time will tell.
