hey guys my front sprocket is worn out and i was thinking about getting a 14 tooth one. i run 18 in tires and the only motor mods are fmf powerbomb with powercore IV, K&N, and open airbox. i ride mostly on MX track and want to start racing soon. any advice on size and brand would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I would highly recommend getting a 13 tooth front sprocket. you will lose a couple mph top end. but it is worth it on the track. i mean when are you ever topped out on the track anyway? it helps you get up a lot faster. you can notice quite a bit of difference. good luck.

I dont have any knowledge about gearing at the track, but id go 14. i tried a 13 and took it very quick because i was shifting non stop.

I have a 14 on mine right now. 13 is way too small, you would be shifting non stop and doing like 4th gear starts which would be pointless. Even with my 14 I shift a LOT more than I did with the 15. I do have more acceleration, I can now out accelerate my buddies Z-400. Although when I hit 5th gear tapped he goes blowing by me in 4th! I like the accleration but I think I'm going back to the 15 tooth during my rebuild, and keeping the 14 just for those short windy SX tracks.

I run 18 tires in the back and 15 sprocket in the front, I never use first gear and don't have much top end speed but you don't need top end in mx.
