Did you just spray it on or did you prep first? like sand and primer...

I painted mine on my 300ex with rust-oleum or somthin' like that.
First I sanded down the a-arms with a palm sander, it got about 98% of the stock paint off, you have to use brake cleaner and a piece of sand paper yourself to get the excess stock paint off. When you start sandin' you'll notice that it looks pretty cool without the paint, kind of like a polish or somthin' don't leave it like that "Paint it" it will rust I've tried it.
Make shure you use plenty of coats, or it won't last long. I painted mine in like, Sept. of 03 and it's just starting to chip, anyway it lasts long if you do it right.
If you use brake cleaner, make shure it is sanded or washed off because the paint will have a hard time sticking to the surface.

Hope this helps:)

I have ran mine for a whole season now, It works, but PC'd is better. Prep the a-arm extreamly well, (u can buy the best paint, and if u dont prep it, it will still look like Chit)

Sand, them wash off, then sand, then use a tack cloth, Then i used a Rust-Oleum (Professional) (15oz.) Primer, for 2 coats, and then a Rust-Oleum (professional) Gloss Black (high performance enamel) then i used 4-5 coats, with alot of time to dry inbetween. To get the best quality, make sure the metal ur working with is at LEAST 70 degress!

Good luck, post a pic when ur done!

I sand blasted my a-arms, blew them off with an air nozzle, then put 4 coats of rubber that comes in a aerosol can ($4 a can from the hardware store) One can did 4 coats on all 4 arms, with a little more one the front of the bottom arms. I've had it on there for 4 rides so far and seems to be holding up great.

i have had real good luck with truck enamel from autozone. I did bead blast mine and prep them real well. It holds up as good as stock. Once a year is enough to keep hem looking good. Also this is a good way to look for cracks that the stock arms seam to get.

me and my frend are getting ours pc'd but do we have to have the lowers replaced cuz of the balljoint? or can we have them just pc over it and will it still be usable? thanks

if they do not have removable ball joints, then they usually wont pc them because it bakes the seals parts inside the joint and pretty much ruins them, cant pc stockers, sorry!

cant u jsut ask them to not pc the ball joint and cover it up? then jsut bake the part orhalf that is pc'd?

I have my stockers powdercoated. The place that did mine will usually put a heatshielding kind of tape that keeps everything underneath from getting baked. Although, if done very carefully, you can remove your dust boots, and reinstall them. That's what i did, and they went back together pretty snug. The balljoint still moves free as well. Just make sure to get some grease put back in.

Appliance paint works really well but only comes in a few colors. I did mine with black appliance paint and it is still holding up well. Appliance paint is just a harder enamel and I couldn't tell ya exactly how long it will last, but it does hold up well. Also, you can have them professionally powder coated for about $15.
