450r cam in 400ex

some guy in the auto n rv says he has a 450r cam in his 400. that isnt possible is it?

nope, A 450 cam only has three lobes on it, a 400ex cam has 4 lobes and 4 diffrent rockers. The 450r cam has to lobes on the ends that i think(intake) and the center lobe is the exhaust, and the rocker arm it has, had two sides that run both exhaust valves. IT could be a single lobe for the intake, and two for exhaust, But i do know it only has 3lobes on it!

You are correct the two intake valves are driven directly and the exhaust valves are driven via the rocker arm that the center lobe runs. No way it will work with a 400ex.
