didn't you know that 450's are one of the only quads with removable front fenders? just take the two bolts out and clip the two grommets and no cutting is required... good luck!

I think they look better cut rather then just taking the fenders off...

I used a dremel with good results when I cut my buddys 400ex. I havnt used anything else though...

Yeah, I used a dremel tool cutting my 450 plastics. I've also cut plastics on other quads with it and it works perfect. Then when your done, take a peice of sand paper and smooth out the edge. You'll be pleased.

cut mine with a hacksaw, doesn't look great after the first cut but after you sand them and file them and use a die grinder with a smooth sand paper attachment, after that use a cigeratte lighter to brighten up the edges. Look sweet when done, Just remember take your time. I like hand tools better, then power tools, you will feel more in control. good luck

I use a jigsaw its very easy to keep it centered, and then i go over it with wet sane paper and it comes out buttery smooth

Dremels suck they can get out of control and arent to accurate

look for a bodysaw, those work better then anything else i have tried and can be pretty accurate. IMO atvs with no front fenders looks horrible.

I have a Multi-saw from Black and Decker. Works great for me!...

Multi-Saw (http://www.blackanddecker.com/productguide/ProductDetail.aspx?PID=2469&RHID=1440&P=ProductDetail.aspx&ATT=AttachmentDetail.aspx&ACC=AccessoryDetail.aspx&ACS=AccessoySet.aspx&R=ProductListByType.aspx) Its cheap and works for all kinds of things.

let me throw out a question on this subject.....for the people that have cut their fenders, how did you decide on how much to chop off? if anyone has a before and after pic on how much they chopped it, would you please post it??? I would appreciate it

well i do think it will look better with cut fenders rather than off. i have already takin them off and had it like that for a while but i just like the cut fender look better. but thanks for all the posts i guess i really have a broad selection field for tools to use :D . i will probably just use the dremel because i don't have any of the other tools available. i just wanted to know how well i dremel would work and what some of you had used to cut them before. thanks again, chris

I used a utility knife for mine. With a sharp blade it went through like butter. Just mask it off first with tape so you have something to follow and you should be alright.
