welded crank

anybody ever have there cranks welded?? a guy i work with had his done on all his drag sleds and he swears by it. but they were also puttin out 200+ h.p. so i was just wonderin if anybody ever did it to there quad and wat kinda results they got

I'd like to know about this too, what do you weld on the crank ? :confused:

I have had my crank on my 440 welded. So how it came out of true and I had to tear the entire engine apart and send it in to have the rod replaced and they welded the crank halves to the offset pin that determines your stroke. It's not a neccesity usually on a single cylinder with lower power. Hope this helps.
