Thad at Maxxis here again: This is day 3 of the Maxxis ATV Olympics featuring the Cross Country race. The course was fairly short at around 4 or 5 miles long. Very fast, sandy and wooped out. It was actually a lot of fun but very physically demanding. All Pro and A Classes started and raced together on the same line.

This is Mike Newsom and Richie Brown of the 4-Stroke A Class.

Josh Starrett was lined up and relaxing while waiting on the start which seemed to take forever.

A few nice looking quads lined up and ready to roll.

Donald Lysinger Jr. ready to take on the Cross Country race.

Michelle Reiser showed up to the starting line early to hold a spot for John Natalie and to distract all of the other riders from the race. I think John had a slight advantage over the other riders because of this.

And then he arrived mounted up on a new Honda TRX450R. Check out his shocks, they are new from Fox Shox. John swears up and down that they are the best shocks made. I would love to try them.

Brad Skelton running in the A class. He was obviously a little muddy from the races the day before. Wassup Brad!

David Bailey was ready to wrap up the 4-Stroke A class. He had won the TT, MX and was ready to take on the Cross Country.

We all hoped Chris Borich would show up. He seems to be on FIRE these days since he dialed in his Alba Action/Maxxis Honda 450R. Watch out for Chris in the 05 GNCC season.

And the flag dropped! Chris Borich pulling the holeshot with much ease. Natalie was not able to start his 450R up on the first try and started near the back of the pack.

After almost a full lap Chris Borich was the first to come by. There was at least 20 seconds before John Natalie came by. He managed to weave his way through traffic and get into the second place spot.

Natalie came from nearly the back of the pack, passed everyone except for Borich and was chasing him down.

This is where things got very interesting. Im standing there taking pics expecting Borich to come around the corner any second. All of the sudden Natalie come blasting around the corner with a 20 second lead.

I heard that Borich stopped, waited and waited on him. I'm not sure what the real truth is to this.

So I'm sitting here waiting for Natalie to come over this hill but guess what, It was Borich. He was back in the lead.

I found out later that Natalie broke a chain. He did get it fixed but it was way too late at this point.

Finally after 1 and a half hours of great racing, Borich comes through the checkered flag. He looked beat. That is such a rough wooped out course.

Natalie came rolling in several minutes later with tools in his hand. I think at this point he just wanted to get the points. Better luck next year on the Cross Country John. Congrats to Borich for a great ride.

Now a few random pics from the morning class. I actually raced this one and a guy by the name of Weeble took the pics. Thanks Weeble.

As you can tell, the track was extremely fast in a lot of places.

This is Jorge Cuartas! He is the genius behind Media Allstars. They are the ones that brought the new and improved Event Programs to the races this year. Look for them to expand into other race series this year.

John Natalie gave a great speech at the end of the Awards Ceremony. He thanked every rider for attending. He mentioned that if we are to take ATV racing to a higher level, we need to be at these events and support them. John is a great spokesman for our sport. Congrats again John and Good Luck in 05.

gnarly,do you have anymore olimpiad pics?i didn't complain when you didn't get any pics of the kids who rode their hearts out at this event, but you do have some proud dads and moms who frequent this forum and you left out my son the olimpiad in the 70 production class....thanks...the kids are the future of this sport and get far too little recognition for their efforts....
