I want to get my head ported on my 300ex. It's at stock bore right now and i would like to leave it that way. I have an lrd exhaust, k&n air filter with drilled air box lid. I was wondering what they did when they ported it and who does the best porting. Any other advice would help too. THanks.

just porting ur motor won't do anything... it would be better for u to get a high compression piston and cam then do the porting... remember this... u can't get more air in if u can't get more air out...

good point. What's the best cam do you think for a 300? I've heard good things about web.

That is when they make the holes/ports in your head were air/fuel enter and were exhuast leaves bigger. Basically makin more room for air to enter and leave the combustion chamer,,the more and quicker it gets in and out the more HP your motor has. Cost of porting varies,,,,you can have a mild/play port done for around $50 or a full race port for around $300. Portin only comes into play with bigger bore motors and bigger breathin carbs..

Yes Rico,
Except on the 300ex, which has very small ports for a 250 much less a 300. Those words are from Mr. Dunlap.

A .357 works pretty good for porting heads. LOL:D
