so is it really gonna be worth waitin for an 06. it is gonna be a true 450 right. if so, is it gonna have more bore or more stroke. i'm gonna try and get one sometime this year, and i can get an 05 for a lot less when the 06 comes out if the changes aren't that significant.

What was Ballance supposed to say the bike is never gonna have changes???? Remember he gets paid by Yamaha.
Who knows maybe it will have a bunch of changes but don't hold your breath.

I cant wait till the LT 450 comes out and shows up Honda and Yahama. Suzuki has so much money and its gonna show, mark my words.

Its will be interesting to see the new 06's, but I say very little will be changed on either quad. It's not like honda or yami to change anything thats not broke. I too would like to see what suzuki has created, they've had enough time it better be good.

Being a true 450 will not be worth the wait if the rumors are true. I don't think it will make that much of a difference or the 05's would have been 450's.

I look for alot of small tweaks rather than major changes for the YFZ, probably mostly in the handling department. As for the LT-Z450 or whatever its gonna be called I hope its an awesome bike, Suzuki is really stepping up with racing support for our support more than any other company so I'm sure they have something up their sleeves.

tido450

i just hope suzuki doesnt sacrifice durability for weight savings like they did with the z400, if i had to compare my z400 with food id call it a crumbled ritz cracker, its always broken, the sub frame is out being painted again because it snapped for no apparent reason, if it wernt for my fenders i woulda run my *** over with the back tires

robman
01-03-2005, 04:38 PM
Durability is the big ?True that,I'm waiting for the new z450 but i'll be more than happy with a moded R trade in for half the price.

remember, it will be a first year quad. the yfz had electrical probs, but a proven motor design. the trx had some crank issues, no biggie. the ltz had frame issues. thats a big one. yeah the trx has some frame problems, but not like the z400. the new z450 or whatever it is will be fast. remember, its the aftermarket potential that these motors crave. atv's have restrictments by law, so don't expect a trx/yfz killer. blah blah, i can't wait to see what's in store.

the new suzuki will most likely have electric start with a kick back up. I beleive honda will do the same. If not in 06' definitly in 07'. The yahama will still have just e. start with all the same battery problems. I feel the suzuki will be based more off the 450R and not the YFZ. They are shooting to make the most asthetically pleasing quad but with all the baddest features! This LTZ 450 is gonna be incredible. just some of my insight thats gonna get bashed. :macho

You will have to hold it a lot longer than that for major updates to the YFZ. In 07, it gets a new frame, suspension and engine.

z400ACDC Has very good connections with Jeramiah Jones and Bill ballance.
He has been very accurate and knew stuff about the Z400, Yfz and the 450r before any of them were even close to being released.

He knows his chit!!!!
Notice his Sig? Oh shoot thats where both JJ and BB are from what a coincidence?:eek2:

yeah thats why they had to merge with kawi to save both there asses:p no matter what suzuki builds it will never be a yamaha or honda but it may perform well but in terms of durability and reliability i wouldnt hold your breath

I have a YFZ and its been awesome to me but Yamaha has never been known for their reliability. Plus Suzuki and Kawasaki never merged, and either way the alliance probably helped out Kawasaki more than Suzuki.

yeah they never been bad, in bikes anyways i dont think they really put much thought into quad til the yfz, suzuki and kawi are way deeper than an alliance, both of them were struggling equally as bad...

That little "Alliance" is going to be ending within the year just so you know. Its not anything more than an Alliance, although neither were doing that great in the motorsports industries both have much larger ventures that are in no way shape or form in any sort of "trouble" financially.

I'm still amazed at when I see people say that " well maybe I should wait till the next year before buying .. it'll be better " ... if you think like that all the time , you're gunna be sitting out on the side lines for years and years . Of course the Companies are gunna improve their Machines every year ... thats what keeps them " Up Top" in the business .

I'm sure Yamaha will improve things on the YFZ ... but to put off a purchase because maybe the next year will be better ... who cares . Unless you're Doug Gust or Tim Farr or J. Jones ... you probably WON'T notice the difference if they tweak the suspension ... add 10cc more .

Go out and make the purchase ... if you keep waiting , you'll be sidelined for '05, '06, '07 , '08 , '09 .... get where I'm going ??

;) You hit the the nail on the head! If you are waiting to get the best quad ever, you will never buy one. The next one will always be better. When I bought my brand new 1982 ATC 185S, I thought that was the greastest thing ever. Then, in 83, Honda brought out the 200X and I had to get one of them. It just kept going on and on, Blaster, Banshee, EX, Raptor ans Z400. I don't know what is my next one, but it will be better I'm sure

If it is made a true 450 it will get more bore, as it cannot be stroked any farther.

Dont get your hopes up about the ltz450, can you find many areas on the yfz or 450r that suzuki could improve on? not really.

i heard the lt 450 is coming with aluminum chassis like the 450 bike, the bike motor , and a race ready chassis, which i beleive suzuki will do, this wikll only benefit the guys who ride stock but it will be cool to see

Atkins450, of course the YFZ can be stroked for the full 449cc, all they did was destroke it to get it down to 439cc. I can find plenty of areas that both the YFZ and 450R can both be made better.

Not true! The WR450 crank is a "bolt on" and it strokes the YFZ 1.4mm to 449cc. And many companies offer 4mm strokers for the YFZ.

many companies offer the 4mm stroker for the wr.
not the yfz

but like you said you can bolt up a wr kit cheap

i believe 280 with everything you need

What are you talking about my YFZ is a 470 and has stock bore. all the displacement was added by stroking it. plus like someone else said the bike motor has a longer stroke??????

I have seen many Yfz450 and Honda 450R with broken frame and subframes also.

Why is everyone and there brother running to get six point subframes for the Yam and Honda. Hmmm cause they are junk.

OK boys , this is a meeting at I believe it was Dirtwheels, where suzuki had a meeting with them to talk about the z450 and share ideas. Robman noticed these pics on the table of what we believe to be concept drawings of it or actual prototypes. Problem is my photo shop is crap and this is the best i could do will find out what month maybe someone can fix it up or at least clean it
