View Full Version : TRX 450R transmission issue?

Any known issue with the transmission on the TRX 450R?

I've been having some trouble with the 2nd and 4th gear. the fork heated and bended.

the 4th tend to down shift to 3rd. that problem hasn't been solved yet. trying to figure it out.

any help appricieated...

When I raced one, it would come out of gear and go into neutral. It did it when I was in 3rd and 4th gear.

thats weird
When i ride my 400ex and im in gear just about to shift it sometimes will make a weird noise and it sounds like its outa gear for a while
maybe my foots hitting it

mine would act up till i switched to honda tranny oil. ever since then its been fine.

My buddy has 2 450r's and his brother has one, all 3 of there trannies had to be replaced but covered under warranty :confused:

when I ride mine REALLY hard it has trouble going into 3rd.

JH Racing was having some problems with his tranny's. He had a machinist fix them for him. I am told is a cheap and easy fix. I am taking him my motor to do the fix for me while my bike is apart.

can you inquire about the adjustments he made?

my brother did some stuff to it but i don't know what exactly. he's the mech. i'll keep you posted and report on how well it work out.

Ok sack I will ask him tomorrow if I can remember when I am there. I know both of his bikes his practice and his race bike had the same problem.

I had mine do it in 3rd. gear, its wierd though, it will do it quite a bit then go away for awhile, let me know too on the fix.. Z
