Hey guys, i "fabricated" (lol) my airbox lid and put a uni filter in the other day. I rejetted to a 175 main and left everything else alone. Tell me what you guys think. Should i make bigger holes? take it off completely? It seems to be running awesome. How can i tell if its running rich besides a dark plug? Heres a pic to get an idea.

that looks good.
the only other ways that i can think of to tell if you are rich is if its running like crap, black smoke frome the exhaust, or if you have an air/fuel ratio meter to use on it. i guess your just gonna have to do a plug chop to find out.

yea, i'll do a plug chop tommorow and see whats up. From past knowledge and jetting, id say the quad is running ok. theres just that tiny bit of hesitation near the middle of the powerband that i want to go away. The low end is right there and it absolutely screams on top. does anyone else think of a better set up with the lid?

I would just take the lid off and put a 185 main in it. That or cut that whole area out where you put the holes. Then it would be about the same as an HRC lid.

take it off, put in a 185 main and the hrc or sparks needle.

I cut the whole top off of mine and then I get the water proof outterwear cover and fabricate it so it still comes off with the lid and not the velcro. It works great for XC racing.

Just remember to do the plug chops at different RPMs, then jet accordingly.. just more accurate that way.
