They mill out an oil galley in the case. I tried to get exact details the other day but they where still iffy about telling me, top secret?? They also told me they will not do it to my cases because I run a 98mm piston.

Kenz Cycle also does this oiling modification. It squirts oil on the bottom of the piston to help lubricate the wrist pin and cool the piston.

I've got my motor totally apart and would like to know more. Hows it squirt it?

I think they probably just drill out some passage a little and when the oil is pumped, it is forced out that tiny hole and squirts onto the bottom of the piston. I am sending mine to Kenz next week to get this done so I am not 100% sure what it looks like yet.

i've heard that that yamaha didn't put the lubricating galley in the first batch of yfz450's (early 2004) but after that the engines are already setup withis feature. Because of this failure on Yamaha's part people were having trouble with there engines when they were running big bore kit's or high-compression pistins. Not totally sure if there is any truth to this, it's just what I've heard.
