time to adjust valves?

there has always been a ticking noise coming from my 2000 400ex motor since i got it last spring, but when i put on my powerbomb header it seems to be louder now, does this mean i need to adjust my valves? thanks

You will always hear a ticking coming from 400's. If it got louder than normal, then yes its most likely time to adjust them. Since they got louder after you put on an engine modification, then I would adjust them just to be safe.

And when you adjust them, its better to have them a little loose than a little tight.
