Feather. They make a flat carbon fiber hood.

Ya check eBay. Thats where I got mine also. I just paid a little more though. Theres a few very small fisheyes and stuff but who cares its a quad. And yes I guess the 250R hood does fit because alot of people use them. Do a search!

No maier does not make a hood for the 400ex. But they make a bunch of hoods for the 250R and they will fit. If you cant get one of the Dixo hoods they are talking about off of ebay try one of the plastic ones.

Umm, you sure thats a dixo hood? It looks exactly like a quadtech to me and even has the exact same grill design as the new quad techs. I mean, I can see them making something similar, but when the only difference is the lack of a Quadtech sticker, I figure they wouldnt be able to just put out a straight copy...

If you look at the Dixo hood and the Quadtec hood they are exactly the same. Chances are they are the same, possibly made in the same place as well.

The Dixo hoods are like seconds I believe. As most all have some kind of blemishes (fisheyes, lint etc..).

DO YOU HAVE TO CUT????

Do you have after market plastics or do you have stock. If you have stock, yes you have to cut the light housing off. Otherwise how would you get the hood on?

Also if you buy a scoop hood. You do not have to cut the scoop into your plastics, but what was the use of buying the scoop if you were not going to make it functional.

There are 250R Naca-duct hoods out that will fit the 400ex as well. I ran one for years, just to be different. You have to cut a small notch out of the plastics to get these to fit, to allow for air flow and to get them to sit on the plastics correctly.
