are t hey illegal i wanted to get some of my headlights of my truck,..someone said they were illegal but i cant understand why:huh anyone know ?

i use to hear they were illegal but i dont know. i havent seen any in years, i thought they got smart and quit making them.

some places they are and some places the dont enforce them. i believe its illegal to modify the headlights or taillights on a vehicle unless its DOT approved, thats why APC has had a hard time trying to get those crapy euro lights to pass. plus black outs were cool quite a few years ago. it really does block the brake lights during the day when they are installed.

they are not DOT approved, depending on your age and what not will depend on if you will get bothered.

i just wanted them for my headlights, i dont have some gay ricer mobile thing my truck is all black and black wheels and stuff..i saw them at wal mart the other night i think ventshade made them eh screw it im not gettin em i didnt know those eminem wannna bes used them on there civics

actually i think its funny, most people posted here was from alabama which means we saw them on everything, old body mustangs, the square ford rangers with the round headligths, and even minivans. its more of the wana be custom mullet redneck add on more then the ricer add on.

i have them on my blazer in Pa and i havent been stopped yet i was told they were but i still have them i also still have tint on my windows which is illegal most cops around here wont say anythign unless your doing stupid ****

i know people who have them on there tahoe and take them off at night or only run them on the low beams

ive HEARD that they were illegal, not for sure...but i doubt a cop would do anything about them unless he already had u pulled over.......

it is illegal to have lisense plate frames on our vehicles and i had one and didnt know and i didnt get stopped until i was stopped for speeding.......and i ended up with 2 tickets.....the frame one ended up being $80...not worth it at all!

they are illegal only at night time... in the day u can do what ever u want to the headlights because its not madatory to run them... thats what i was told...
