a-arms question

I just put on a set of burgard a-arms and was setting the camber up and was wondering if the threads on each a-arm should be the same length? If the question doesnt make sense I can post a picture. When the a-arms or on the bike I have one side with about 8 or 9 threads showing and on the other side I have 2 or 3 threads showing. I tried to look around and see some pictures of top a-arms with camber adjustment but can find any that are close-up.
