Ok, well seeing how my clutch is stock and fried, I need a new one. I am currently looking into Hinson and PE. What are your thoughts on different aftermarket clutches? I am racing MX and need a nice setup.

Thanks,
Craig

The HD race clutches are nice, the only thing is they have kevlar in the compound. If you use these, make sure and change your oil a little more frequently, due to the kevlar running thru the bearings. I use stock fibers and heavier springs, it never slips and lasts just as long as the heavy duties. One tip, take some fine sandpaper and scuff the top and bottom of the steels.

i have a wiseco basket with stock plates with cr500 springs in my 330, and hinson basket with stock plates and stock springs in my 250. they both seem like good baskets for the money, both showing great wear compared to the stocker. i did not care for the barnett clutch plates that i tried. stockers are the way to go.

I agree, stock fiber are the best. I also run a hinson basket that is holding up very well.

Hinson's are the best by far. I run the complete 8 plate in my powervalve, with CR500 springs and stock plates, and just the regular Hinson basket in my other engine w/ stock plates.

ya the stock fibers are the best hands down.

one thing though, the cr 500 springs are actually LIGHTER then the trx250r springs. see the cr 500 uses 6 springs where as the trx uses 5. If you want a softer clutch pull go with the cr500 springs, the clutch grab on the trx is awesome and the lighter springs wont slip and the clutch feel will be nice and light, as long as the cable and perch are working right.

A have heard someone talking about using 3 cr500 springs and 2 trx springs. I was advised to use all trx springs by splashn dirt. They say the cr500 springs will wear the clutch quicker.
