Ok guys I'm going to be doing either a 406 or a 416 JE piston. I've asked around a little bit but I want to see what everyone thinks. I want to know where everyone got their JE piston and for how much? Also I was curious if there were any differences between the JE's and the Wiseco's? Pros/Cons? Thanks guys

I have a 406 JE piston. I really like it. I got mine from the Quadshop. It was $125 I think for the whole kit.

I've always been a wiesco fan, but side by side the JE is alot beefier. Its heavier which I'm told will help build more torque. I'm in the middle of my rebuild, JE 10.8:1, st. II hot cam, port job, & a full Yoshi. system. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Later Joe.

I've got the JE high comp piston, I got it from Golden West as well, you can get just the piston with the gaskets and rings from them. It's an awesome piston and that cam you're putting in is the same I have, if you put them together that bike is going to roar...trust me it's awesome.

I've done alot of 2- stroke top ends, so when I got my piston kit I thought damn I got ripped off because there was no pin bearing with the kit. I felt real dumb when my bud told me it didn't have one.LOL Later Joe

C&D Racing is building a 416 kit for me right now, very anxious to get it back, get through the break in period, and run it...

Theres a whole other subject! I did like Mototune says " break it in like you ride it." No problems yet.

I ended up getting the wiseco 11:1 and I kept it standard bore for the best reliability possible. Just started the break in today. I'm definitely breaking it in like I'm going to ride it to. So far so good.

So basicly, you are not going to do any break in then?

breaking it in like you ride it, doesn't that mean not riding it any different for the first few tanks?
