I just tore my engine down to find that my intake valves are starting to curl. Does anyone know where I can get some titanium valves? Thanks for any input.

i thought i read somewhere that Ti valves arent all there cracked up to be. Something about they are to brittle and wear out quickly, plus there big$$$ i'll find the link if your interested.

i'd strongly suggest not getting Ti unless your interested in replacing them every 12-15 hours of hard race/riding. Plus they cost an extra $400 for them (custom sizes but not for stock sizes)

Stick with Stainless Steel.

I'm not sure...I always heard that TI valves were stronger. I've only had 6 months of riding and maybe 8 races tops on it and the stock valves are already going bad. I just want something that is going to last a little longer than six months.

they def wont last longer than stainless steel valves. Alot of people that own CRF bikes upgrade their ti valves to stainless...so that they last longer and dont need adjusting as often.

most likely if the crf guys are wearing out there Ti valves... it's cuz the aren't cleaning there a/filter enough or at all... the dirt will pass thru them and wear the coating of them... if they need adjusting more than twice... take them out and put new ones in...i haveen't had to adjust any crf valves yet out of prolly 10 bikes (crf250r &crf450r) and hey ride all the time and some even mx 4 days a week... just what i have seen att he dealership

Thanks for the advice guys I decided to get the stainless I guess I'll just have to check them more often than I thought I would. I never had this problem with my ex I checked them once every 6 months and to this day they are still good and its a 2000 model.

Do you need to get your valves adjusted like the 400ex I thought I read somewhere on this site that the R doesnt need that is this true?
