Best way to wake up a 300ex

Hey you guys got any plans to wake up a 300 a bit without dumping alot of money other than piping it?

A complete Big Gun Exhaust System, back that up with a K&N Powerkit and Jets, Remove your airbox lid and drill a few 1" holes in the back of the box.

That would be a damn good start and if you want to spend a little more Money well then you can add a H.C. Piston, have the head ported and polished, and beef up the valves.

Ok , 300exs are really de-tunned
The stock header is extremely small , so that could stand to be replaced along with the silencer, the stock air box should be opened up. Get an air boot from a 350x and put that on there (along with jetting changes for these mods) and if you really want to get into it put a cam in it along with a higher compression piston. I hear the 300ex has alot to be gained through porting too.
I put a header on mine and re-jetted and the thing rips compared to stock.

Clean it up with Mop & Glo..:D

The airbox is the cheapest and easiest way to start. After that, rejet and a header.

Yeah Powroll sells a header that fits into the stock silencer for $90, it will keep noise down and give you a little more flow at the same time.

in addition to the pipe, airbox mods and 350X airboot, a 400EX carb works good on the 300's. That's my next mod.

dude could anyone tell me if i could put a 400ex carb on my 250X ???? ...i know a 250x and a 300ex has diff carbs tho .
