there is a wire that goes near the sprocket and then connects to the engine case
this wire was broke off when my chain snapped
what does this wire do and how much would it cost to replace it

ohhi know what it is. i took mine off yesturday.that wire connects to your motor. i dont know what it does, but i know you need one

if its the wire that runs into your side case its your stator wire... Probobly just better off buying a new one. I think you can pick a used one up for 75ish. You could try fixing it though.
The stator is what helps charge your battery and run your lights
I thought that wire was for your neutral light.

it does not turn over with out that wire on
but does it just screw out or somthing

you have to take apart the wire goes into, thats the only way to get it out.

ok i got it out it un screws for the engine and unplugs from battery
how much will it cost me to replace it ?
and what the stock front sprocket?
if i drop a tooth up front will it have more bottom end?

i think this wire is also for the neutral safety switch that wont let the motor start in gear. mine was disconnected for a while and it wouldn't start unless the clutch was pulled in, even in neutral

for your neutral light, mine comes unplugged all the time

Mines been unplugged for about 2 years and still runs like a champ. Just pull the clutch when starting it an all should be fine.
