i don't play teh guitar, but my brother does. he's pretty damn good at it to. he has a band, or use to but they split up. he and his friend mvoed to hollywood to search for a record deal. they are gettin really damn good at playing to. but he has a paul less gibson? i think lol. idk anything about guitars. he's here in town now for the holidays though.

I used to jam in a brutal metal band...

My bass rig was: (unfortunately all sold now for quad aftermarket parts...)

-BC Rich Mocking Bird Bass (NJ Series) w/ EMG's (still have it)

-Carvin 15" cabinet (sold)
-Carvin 4x10 cabinet (sold)
-Carvin 800 watt rack unit head (sold)
-Rack system w/ EQ, Tuner, etc... (sold)

One guitarist used a Randall cabinet with Ampeg head and a rack system, the other used a Marshall 1/2 stack...

Drummer used an 8 piece double bass Pearl drum kit w/ Zildjian cymbals...

I miss jammin in that band, **** was heavy as ****... Like a mix between Suffocation/Internal Bleeding and Hatebreed...

I love the Chameleon. It has tons of presets to mess with and it's easy to create your own settings and really dial in your sound. Plus the guys at Rocktron are really great if you need any tech support or anything.


What kind of music do you guys play, and for how long have you been playing?

My personal preference is the heavier, the better...old Sepultura, Children of Bodom, In Flames, Death...Unfortunately, I don't play much anymore since I started riding.:devil:

Those are some awesome bands that you guys mentioned! I play a wiiiiide variety of stuff on the guitar, ranging from metal ( quo vadis, sonata arctica, stratovarius, children of bodom, kalmah) to Classical, to Jazz ( George Benson, Acoustic Alchemy, Earl Klugh etc.) to rock, to Blues. Pretty much everything you could think of as long as it sounds good and is a challenge to play.

Amen to that brother. I can't stand arrogant guitarists who are like "RAWWWWWRRRRRRR METAL F'N RULES ALL" and "I only play this type of music because all other music sucks" I just wanna take their guitars and crack em upside the head with it. :D

i've been playing electric for 3 years and accoustic since i was about 10. i play everyday for hours, i absolutely love it. i have a sweet set up that sounds like a pro's after about $2,500. i saw JG (satriani, vai, and yngwie) front row last year and since then, i've tried to learn and play there stuff. songs i've learned the past year by these three...

truthfully, i forget a lot of names to songs cause i'm too busy memmorizing the tabs. i play a lot of parts, or solos to songs. i can play about half of the Crossroads solo until Stevie Ray Vaughn starts doing those scales. i can do them but about half speed. i'm still working on my set up. i use CakeWalk Pro Audio 9. i love the program, works great. as soon as i set up some stuff, i should be recording another CD within a few months. i'm not perfect, i make mistakes sometimes but i have to admit, i sound pretty dam good for a 15 year old :devil:. btw, i'm learning Hot for Teacher, that's the only thing my friend has over me. i want that, and he wants the master of puppets solo but he won't have that one :macho
