will the fronts fit
will i have to mod them for them to fit
i have seen pics of them on 400exs before

Yes you have to mod them.
You need to make a new upper shock mount ..
I think its too much work.

i just bought a different shock mount off of ebay and i put the stock yfz shocks on my 300ex and they work really well

you don't have to cut the shock mounts off. take the shock apart and take the body of the yfz shocks and a stock 400ex shock to a machinist. you will have to press out the bushings and mill some of the material on the top of the shock to get it the same width as the 400ex. then press out a 400ex bushing and but the yfz bushings to fit and press them back it. the bottom mounts are the same width as the 400ex. finally, you have to cut a very small amount of the top shock mount for clearance of the shock. like i said it wasn't very much and it is pretty easy to see about how much to take out. this wasn't a very difficult process and the results were pretty awesome, and i have +2 leager's.
