I will be running Burgard +2 and shocks redone from Gt Thunder front and rears.
I race MX and dune mainly. For the price I dont think this setup can be beat.

you can't go wrong with laegers. as far as the shocks go, i am a big fan of PEP's.

hey kazpr you think gt does the best job on the rear shock..do they just revalve it...or are they doing a link also..

and hawk how are the peps compared to elkas price wise

Baldwin can convert your rear shock into a single rate PEP zps, at least he can on the 400ex back shock so Im pretty sure he can do it on the 450. Price is around $400 I believe. Also I recommend going with a JB Racing long travel front end price is pretty reasonable for long travel too $749.

mike, it depends on which shock you want to go with. the long travel zps PEP shocks start at around $895 and go up from there

PEP zps 20 click 895 for front and 895 for rear single rate, 970 dual rate. 8 click 1075 fronts, 1045 rear. ARCs 1650 fronts.

im not to fimiliar with the peps to much but this is what i have...i have about 1700 or so to spend on the front end...maybe that will give you a better idea of what im looking for...I would rather be around the 1500 range..but i can go anywhere between 1500-1700...any ideas....thanks for the help

I would go with the 20-click zps PEP's $895, then go with JB Racing Long travel a-arms $749. That will keep you under $1700.

I would go Elka Long Travels with JB, Laeger, Houser, Burgard, etc. LT a-arms.

If you want to spend the big bucks there is no question HOLZ racing is the setup for the 450r and custom axis shocks.
But for a budget the GT Thunder and the burgard will be tough to beat. The GT Thunder is a new link also. They are the ones making the links for axis also now. Hope this helps. Any more questions just ask. Good luck Kazpr.

I will be sending them all three of my shocks here pretty soon. I dont think myself would benefit from the expensive shock upgrades. I will post pictures once I get them back.
I will be getting my Burgard A Arms from JH Racing pretty soon also.

Kazpr you are correct. The Holz set-up is far better than anything out there. I spent the cash and it is worth it. Also Holz will have a XC bike at the GNCC this year. Check out his XC stuff. He has a really wicked new linkage design for XC coming in March. I will be there with Mark on mine.

Ya jeff the HOLZ is not the big name as the others but I can assure anyone it is the setup to go with for the 450r if $$ is unlimited and you are wanting to go MX. Will make the 450r unreal.
Ask pro racer Johnny Hale he will tell you from first hand experience the difference the setup will make on the bike!

ya i really want the long travel...but i just cant decide on which one i want...

heres what i have gotten for prices so far..

denton arms with tcs shocks for $1715
burgard arms with elkas for $1750

also i found a guy that would revalve my rear shock for 169..i guess they do all of golden west cycles and some pro honda riders....

does that sound alittle to cheap or is that about right

The setups you mentioned would all be good, but I like the Laeger. If your going to be running LT up front, I would look into the new rear Elka and their Linkage, or their shock with a GT Thunder linkage.

I am running JB +2 3/8" arms and still using the stock brake lines. The JB upper arms have threaded plugs in them for using your stock brake line clamps. No binding at fool droop with the wheels turned to full lock either way.

i wouldnt go with long travel. IMO i think its a waste of money.you can set up a set of standard travel shocks that will perform as good as a LT set up without paying the extra money. you can get a set of pep standard travel shocks to have as much travel as a pep long travel set up. if you set them up with the same brand a-arms. the only thing they do is lower the point that the shock bolts up to the a-arm, but if you test the wheel travel you can set them up the same. it has been proved by a member of this site. kgbq has a set of long travel pep's with i think jb LT a-arms. he said it was the absolute best ride he ever had from a quad untill he rode his friends r that had the same set up except they were standard travel. he said he could not tell a difference in the ride what so ever. here is a thead from a different forum talknig about them. read it if you want.

I'm all about my pro trax with the pep's this thing is nailed to the ground in corners holz is also really good especially the rear end he makes is rediculas almost all long travel is good it's just how much you want to spend to go to the next level of performance and right now i believe holz laegers are at the top of the game
