which quad do you guys think will win in a 1/4 mile drad a 450r with hrc kit 260lbs rider or all stock yfz with a 220lbs rider.
i know this thread is all over the place but its with the bikes beig in stock form i dont know if the hrc kit makes that much of a difference.

My piped/ESR intake YFZ beats my buddies piped/HRC 450R at the Gecko drags by about 3-5 bike lengths consistently. If my YFZ was bone stock i'd say it would be about even.

How can you call him a liar when you have no proof that his YFZ doesnt beat his buddies TRX by 3 quad lengths? We're you there to witness these races? As for my experience I have a YFZ with a HMF Bill Ballance Slipon, EHS Airbox Lid and Jetted. My Buddy has a 450R with HRC Cam, Baldwin Full Exhaust, EHS Airbox Lid, and Jetted and on a fullout drag race on dirt I was consistently 1 bike lengths ahead at all times from about 2nd gear to fully toppedout bouncing off the revlimiter in 5th. Sands a whole different beast, YFZs really seem to get ontop of the sand better from what I can tell although I have no firsthand experience in the sand.

Dale I truly understand your frustrtation and it is believable you beat your buddy by a quad length consistantly.please scroll up and see that he stated he beat his buddy every time by 3-5 quad lengths.I repeat 3-5 bike lenghts every time. This is why I said he is full of bull****.This is also why I said for his buddy to get some riding lessons. If this is all the mods he has done to his yfz there is no way, for certain that he will beat my 450r consistantly by 3-5 bike lenghts.DEC. quad of the month sportraxcentral.com

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're both going to hit top speed so fast (before the 1/8) that whichever has the highest top speed is going to win. If you jump him or he jumps you a few bike lenghts before 300 foot, there is plenty of room to overcome that if one bike is a few mph faster on top end.

A 450r with a pipe and a cam is about even with a fully piped YFZ. So in my opinion, Your buddy on the 450r cant ride for crap. My friend has a YFZ with a White bros. aluminum race series pipe, K&N filter, jetted, and a +1,000 rpm rev box and in a race I can stay even or about a quad behind him on dirt. (Look at my mods in my sig). On pavement it may be a different story for me. We weigh about 160 pounds each so that doesnt make a difference. But those rev boxes help a little for top end so thats one reason he's got me. The 450r will always be the willie king though!! :p
