Well, I am gonna sell my blaster and get a new quad by the beggining of next summer. Well, i dont really wanna spend over $2500, but if i find a really modded quad i probly will. But anyways, I would love to stay 2-stroke and yamaha. But it looks like it might not happen .
Well i ride wide open trails, and dirt roads. Jump quite a bit and like to do wheelies, biking, stuff like that. I do also do some steep hill climbs. Im uashally am in about 5th gear on my blaster. But anyways, i also do alittle bit of mud, not much though. I am about 5'11'' and 140lbs. But my buddies are getting Raptor 350, and a YFZ this spring so i need something that will keep up with them. Right now i am looking at, Banshee, 250r and 400ex. Anything else i should look for? anything that you guys recommend?

a 400ex with some mods would do fine, if you can its worth the few extra bucks for a trx450r, or something of the same level from another brand, but if your on a budjet like many people i belive a 400ex would do you perfect, you can find many modded ones pretty cheap now :)

Well i think im gonna go with a 250r! I love the 2-stroke powerband and i think thats what im gonna get. But other ideas will still be fine.

Good luck finding a 250r for $2500 that is worth a crap. I have never seen one that cheap that didn't need major $ to make it usable.

a 400ex would be sweet..you can pick up a decent any year model for like $2800-$3000..i would pick up a used one and put a full pipe on it, mod the airbox, stage 1 cam and stock bore high compression kit in it...that would be good for your useage and itll have a lot more pep on the bottom end....you could have maybe $3600 wrapped up in one....

as for a 250r, you wont find anything for $2500 that isnt spanked...expect to be forking out $4100 for anything worth your time...i would def. stick with a honda though

Tell me more about 400ex's. I am likeing that they have electic start. But i dont really care about reverse. I am looking for one that has aftermarket shocks and aftermarket exhuast. But if i find one for any cheaper then i will buy it. So i am probly gonna spend around 2,700 or so. Can they hang with the YFZ. Maybe not on the MX track but how about in wide open trails and dirt roads?

Well, i am also thinking about a raptor. I may have to save up alittle more. But its perfect. Reverse, Electric start, Yamaha, and its a 660 .

Here we go again with Jumbo bashing the Raptors!;)

If you're planning on getting a Raptor, stay away from the '01's...some of them had the tranny problems and were recalled.

I will just keep my blaster i think. Just modify my truck some more.

ohh man ditch that blaster...you can hop up your truck later...you need a sweet 400ex to put in the bed of that truck, not a sissy blaster :blah: lol j'm but you should try to get a 400..a 450 is gonna be quicker in all aspects but if your going from a blaster to a 400 you will feel like your ridin a 450..400 was hondas "thing" to reguvinate the sport quad scene..and it worked, the 400 is basically the biggest thing since the 250r IMO.

you wont be wasting your money, i promise you that!

Merry Christmas
