i just got a 87 frame and propegs today. the frame is already fully gusseted but needs to be powdercosted. are there any major tips anyone has before i start to tackle my winter project. i would be very great full to anyone who has good advice. i hopoe to have one bad R before summer starts. long live the R. thanks josh

if you can afford it start off with a fresh bore , piston and new crank and new seals and bearing everywhere thats a good start. that way you will KNow how many hours the motor has on it. Use only HONDA OEM parts and gaskets. IMHO cometic gaskets suck

ill think of more.

first i would buy a motor if you don't have on,and like beerock said,freshen up the motor,while that is going on get some suspension components to at least make it a rolling chassis by april...swinger,axle,bearing carrier,rear shock,a-arms,front shocks,etc good luck

I highly sugest that you find a roller, or a junk R for something under 1500 dollars. I am doing the same thing you are this winter. I have the frame, motor, and most of the front end, and let me tell you I wish that I started with a whole quad.

buy a bolt kit off ebay i got the stainless bolt kit like a year ago in all labeled bags helps a lot!!!!!

thanks guys for the info its great. keep it coming. what is the best power valve 265 out there or are they all pretty much the same?
