hey, I'm new to 4-strokes so I need some help.. I ride at the dunes alot and whenever my 450r is under a load going up dunes at a low rpm, it knocks, or sounds like it... is that normal or am I starting to foul a plug? I have just the HRC spark arrestor tip on... do I need to rejet? will going up 1 on the pilot jet fix this? also whenever I start up my bike and let it run on choke for a couple seconds, it pops..... I think i just need to rejet, but I'm just seeing what other folks say.... any input would be great!

My 400ex kinda sounds like its knocking if im lugging it to much, when it does that try downshifting. and see if it still does it

yeah, if i downshift, it goes away immediatly, I guess its just under too much load at too low of rpm..... I was just making sure something wasn't fcked up on my new bike!!! how old are you, lazer? do you know a chick michelle bolduc? she's a junior and used to go to bandon? anyways if you ever come down to the coos bay dunes, hit me up with a pm and I'll get a few friends together and we'll show you some cool places to go.... anyways, thanks man

these engines dont like to be lugged...you have to rev them hard & go fast

Try a higher octaine fuel.
